Agriculture Funding

Below is a list of some of the funding and programs available to Ontario farm residents, more specifically, those available to our Northumberland farm community.

Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) 
The Northumberland CFDC's mission is to provide financing and strategy for entrepreneurs. They provide loans of up to $250,000 for small and medium-sized enterprises. 

Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN)
The Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland provides business help for small businesses at every stage with free consultations, access to information, resources, business grants and volunteer professionals to help you. If you’re thinking about opening a business, improving a business, or looking for business help in Northumberland, talk to them first!

Agri-Food Management Institute (AMI)
The Agri-food Management Institute is dedicated to promoting new ways of thinking about business management. Their resources are ideal for independent learning, and give anyone involved in an agri-business the tools they need to be a leader in their own operation.

The Agricop vision is to be a versatile, customer-focused organization that works with partners to innovatively deliver programs and services that enhance the vitality of Ontario agriculture. They connect producers to progams that line up with the changing needs of the agriculture sector.

Canadian Agricultural Partnership
The Canadian Agricultural Partnership, implemented by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), is a five-year, $3 billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen the agriculture and agri-food sector.

AgPal is a web-based discovery tool, designed by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), to help producers and others in the agriculture and agri-business sector find programs and services in their area, check out the link to see a list of programs and services in the area.

Farm Credit Canada (FCC)
The FCC reports to Parliament through the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. Their corporate office is located in Regina, Saskatchewan. The FCC lends money and provides other services to primary producers, agri-food operations and agribusinesses that provide inputs or add value to agriculture.

Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)
The BDC supports small and medium-sized businesses in all industries and at every stage of growth with money and advice. Their services are wide spread and accessible to all.

Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA)
The provincial government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs work together to provide a set of funding programs that support good jobs, attract investment, and help the agri-food industry make and even greater contribution to Ontario's economic success. Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council 
The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) is a national, non-profit organization focused on addressing human resource issues facing agricultural businesses across Canada.

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED)
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) works with Canadians in all areas of the economy and in all parts of the country to improve conditions for investment, enhance Canada's innovation performance, increase Canada's share of global trade and build a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace. FedDev Ontario
FedDev Ontario delivers programming to help create, retain and grow businesses, cultivate partnerships and build strong communities. OMAFRA Dateline
OMAFRA Dateline is an online resource for use by interested individuals and organizations across Ontario. Events may be hosted by OMAFRA or other groups. The events posted on this site are aimed at sharing information of interest to agriculture and regional economic development clients.
