Local Farm Organizations

Northumberland County farmers are involved in many different associations across the region and the province. Below are some of the organizations that are highlighted in our area.

Northumberland Federation of Agriculture (NFA) 
The Northumberland Federation of Agriculture (NFA) is the voice of Northumberland’s farm families. The NFA works with all levels of government as well as commodity and rural groups to meet the needs of our county members and acts as a bridge to the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) to represent them for various purposes.

Northumberland Cattlemen Association 
The Northumberland Cattlemen Association is also associated with the Beef Farmers of Ontario who provide many programs and services to farmers in Ontario.

Northumberland-Quinte Soil & Crop Improvement Association 
The Northumberland-Quinte association is also affiliated with the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) who also provides support and programming for Ontario farmers.

Northumberland Dairy Committee 
The Northumberland Dairy Committee helps represent the dairy farmers in our area on various issues with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.

Northumberland County Agriculture Advisory Committee
the Ag Advisory committee is made of representatives of farm organizations and local government personnel who work together to tackle issues facing farmers in the area. Percy Agriculture Society
The Percy Agriculture Society has been operating the Warkworth fair since 1850. They are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and enrichment of our rural life by the annual presentation of the Warkworth Fall Fair.

Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society
Operating since 1854 the Campbellford-Seymour Agricultural Society is the longest running organization in the community. They encourage an awareness of agriculture and promote improvements in the quality of life of persons living in their agricultural community.

Roseneath Agricultural Society
If it’s down home country fun you are craving, join the Roseneath Agricultural Society when they open the gates to the Roseneath Fairgrounds to host the annual Roseneath Fall Fair.

Port Hope and District Agricultural Society
Port Hope celebrates 1831 as the founding date for the Port Hope & District Agricultural Society. Each year they have livestock, horse shows, tractor and truck pulls, show ‘n shine, midway, demo derby and many more wonderful events for the young and old.
